Some people have asked me why they should pay ‘so much’ for photos when their sister’s cousin’s uncle can do a session for $100 and they get all the photos. I’ve been wavering on how to answer that without writing a novel and it turns out, someone wrote it for me!

Please also keep in mind when you’re shopping for a photographer that 80-90% of them are operating without letting Uncle Sam know. They’re cheating the system and hurting all of us who do run a legitimate business, as well as their communities. (A good way to find out tactfully is to ask if they collect Sales Tax, as they are usually required to do.)
