Last weekend I met up with a lovely family and hung out with them for a little bit on North Topsail Beach. Spencer, even at five years old and 7pm, was full of life and energy! I wish I could tap into that, I’d get so much done!

I had to share a quick one – it’s one of the few truly genuine smiles he gave me for a head shot and I just grin every time I see it! I think the grin totally captures his zeal for the world around him.

I might even see a little twinkle of boyish mischief in those eyes.  What do you think?

I’m way behind on blogging but I had to share this!  I delivered this order on Thursday and it was one of my favorite sessions to date.  The order captured their session and the love within their growing family so perfectly that it just made my heart happy.

This client purchased one of my collections, which are structured so that you’re not locked into a certain size/number of prints or products.  Everyone’s photo plans are different and I didn’t want to limit the possibilities by asking a client to choose from a limited print option.  They built their own photo package using the collection structure and saved a good bit of money versus buying a la carte in the process!  It definitely tells their story, their way.  What will your story be?

Out of town notice

June 10, 2010

I just wanted to post a heads up that I will be out of town as of this afternoon and unable to return phone calls or emails. Any communication will be returned on Tuesday, June 15th. Thanks for understanding!!

I spent Friday morning with the cutest little newborn and her family! Newborn sessions are so terrible for my baby itch but I have to say, they are definitely my favorite sessions!

My monitor is down for the count until my new one gets here on Tuesday but I did a quickie edit on my iffy laptop so that I could get a sneak peek up for her doting parents. (In other words, don’t hold any imperfections against me, this isn’t a real edit!)

Isn’t she just perfect?!

What’s Your Story?

May 28, 2010

Storyboards are another of my absolute favorite products and these just came in, so I had to share them!

This storyboard just made my heart sing to see it! I was able to capture some of this family’s most poignant moments over the last year and they’re all here in one storyboard to be displayed in their home. It all started with Andrea’s maternity session, then led to the birth of her beautiful son Quinn, Quinn’s newborn session, and finally introducing father and son as Andrea’s husband returned from Afghanistan. The journey is all here in one glance and I love that about storyboards!

These are mounted on MDF with a striking beveled edge and a glossy coating over the entire image. They come with a keyhole mount so they are a ready-to-hang product!

An entirely different story can be told in just a few moments of beautiful simplicity, such as the stretch and peaceful slumber of a newborn baby.

It’s a bit difficult to tell on the above photo, but the black option has the same beveled edge.

Aren’t they gorgeous?!

So tell me, what story will go on your storyboard?

I recently had the pleasure of spending a Saturday evening with this beautiful family. The children are adorable and the love their parents have for them was readily apparent! I could have happily spent all day photographing them!

Z family, here is your sneak peek!

This was my absolute favorite image from the session! I literally said “Awww!” as soon as it downloaded!

Miss Anna was part of my newborn casting call and I simply couldn’t have asked for a more perfect model.  Born at just over 6 lbs, she was such a perfect little peanut!   Ten cute little toes, ten dainty and long fingers, perfect pink pouty lips … just itty bitty baby perfection!

Here’s a sampling from her session!

{Canvas, Canvas, Canvas!}

April 17, 2010

I LOVE canvases. Love them! When I get them in for clients I always have to resist buying a second one for myself because they look so fabulous! The texture is just divine and the richness of the colors are phenomenal. Not to mention how great they look on a wall!

I’m delivering this canvas this afternoon and just had to take some photos to show you why I love canvases SO much!

I just love how phenomenal a canvas looks on a wall! There is a slight sheen to them and it just stands out beautifully!!!
Beautiful girl on a beautiful beach near Wilmington, NC!

The edges are beautifully finished and you can either opt to wrap the image over the edge or use a solid border instead!

Just look at all this delicious texture!! The detail able to be preserved on canvas always blows me away too – see her eyelashes?!

I secretly hope all of my customers buy a canvas, I just love seeing my work and their loved ones so beautifully presented!

Yesterday I spent the morning with the cutest little peanut of a baby girl. She slept nearly the entire time and was just so adorable I kept wanting to kiss her cheeks and little fingers! This is the only shot I’ve had time to fully edit before I head out of town tomorrow, but I wanted to give her parents a sneak peek before the gallery.

A sneak peek from a beautiful newborn session, taken in Wilmington, NC

I just love how little she looks compared to the hat!

Hello dear friends and clients,

I am seeking to add some fresh new (very new!) faces to my portfolio! If you are pregnant and due in March or April or a new parent and would like some beautiful images of your newest addition or know of someone who would be interested, please read on!

The session will consist of:
* A free 2-3 hour newborn session in your home ($150 value)
* Two free digital images ($150 value), with absolutely no obligation to purchase anything else.
* A gallery with 10 photos to choose from
* 10% off pricing for any purchases
* 15% off pricing for custom birth announcements

All of this is yours in exchange for just the permission to use the photos taken for my portfolio!

At this time I am seeking one girl and one boy, as well as one set of twins. Babies must be under 14 days old. (This allows us to get that sleepy, serene newborn look.) Participants must be available for a morning weekday session for up to 4 hours (to account for set up time) and be in the immediate Jacksonville to Wilmington driving vicinity.

If you are interested in a session, please contact me at stephanie[AT]lalumierephoto.com for details! I can’t wait to work with you and your new little ones!
